She sent me a horrible, but funny Xtian thing with a doll singing 'I'm a sunbeam'. Chucky's bride... But it was the 'sunbeam' that triggered the memory. Grew up with Sunbeam Bread, and little Miss Sunbeam was on the package. Now you can get a bread-box with the countenance of this little marvel right on your local Google search. Uh-huh... And I was SURE the Google search would come up empty. Who'd memorialise a local bread, hey?

But I never trusted her.... because... in 1956, there was 'The Bad Seed'. And look at that adorable face, hey... You KNOW she's gonna poison you with 'some' sort of additive....


One of my favourite horror movies of all time. I always had the feeling that Little Miss Sunshine would become the psycopathic killer of The Bad Seed... And singing dolls claiming they are Jeebus' 'Ray of Sunshine'? Oh dear...

No wonder they invented Chucky.

Plays to a younger audience. Besides which the subtext for the film was actually heinous.

Annti. She told me who Bill Hicks was, and I had never heard of him. He lived 'da life' as stand-up commedian and was brilliant, and probably self-destructive, but he was good. Countdown's Olberman has gotten permission from his family's estate to use clips on his show to underscore his points. Began on Friday. You can go to YouTube, and see some amazing shows he did.

He didn't kow-tow to the Establishment. But he knew about telling the truth.

Glenn Beck is certifiable. He belongs in a very quiet place where he can't harm anyone. And I despise Chris Wallace, aka 'chipmunk man' to my mind. I usually want to slap the smirk right off his face. Today he surprised me... with the question, 'Who made YOU the God sqad?' I nearly shit myself. Is Chris finding a spine??? You have to hear the drivel that followed.

Listen, I don't know how much Beck believes, or how much is show, he's despicable. And seems to be on a self-aggrandizing trip. And I am agnostic. I don't believe in anything. But this clip is mind-bending. I should have stuck with looking at the Daytime Emmys I caught on YouTube today. There was an amazing tribute to Dick Clark, and it was stellar with live acts. He broke down and cried. American Bandstand was a wonderful invention. I don't think Dick is doing all too well, health-wise, but he was part of my childhood. So yeah, that would have been better, getting all nostalgic.

I recently re-connected with a dear friend...

It is too long a story to go into. I am just happy, that I heard from her after so long a time. And she forwarded me a video clip from 'Britain's Got Talent', which is like 'American Idol' and the dreaded Simon Cowell is on both juries (!!!!), and asked WTF??? I'd seen the clip. It was a counter-tenor. Way back, like in the 1700's, 1800's, there were 'castrati' in opera. Yes, kids would be castrated before their voices broke, and some of them were like today's rock stars.

Turned out not to be necessary. There was this guy, Klaus Nomi from Berlin in the late 70's early 80's, who was a counter-tenor. But he didn't sing opera. He was this 'thing' from outer space who shocked, but had a pristine voice. And just as he was catching on world-wide... he died.

Seemingly, he went under my friend's radar at the time. So she didn't know the context. Meanwhile, there are three counter-tenors that I know of, but they only sing those roles in operas which were written for the castrati. It can be a bit unnerving. But Klaus Nomi took it to the top, and I think enabled them to have respectable careers, as unnerving as it is to listen to sometimes.

The parents were the worst acting in a soap opera I have ever seen, the idiocy of discussion didn't surprise me... but otherwise... One Life To Live just makes me cackle with hilarity.

Ok, my triggers for hilarity aren't very loose these days... Talk about drama queens... shee-it. But there is something in the dialogue that makes me think...

Well, as former being in the closet and having fears, some kid it going to just be who he or she is without the fear.

And some people are going to scream, 'Indocrination'. Except it won't be.
