I got up too early, and checked in with Rachel Maddow, couldn't sleep any more. It woke me right up, all right. Just the end of the president's speech SET ME OFF. Prayer is the solution????? That's it????? Really????
Evading the issues? Oh, please. This is already going to be a horrendous day. It is raining very hard, just to accentuate how 'wonderful' it's gonna be.
I will have more to say later today. My suggestion after that horrendous end to the speech from the Oval Office? He should change that 'God Bless America' number and go to Charles Dickens. 'God Bless Us Every One!' As if that's gonna help... (written with disgust).

Tomorrow is the one day I have been so terribly dreading for weeks now.
I have to be in Peter's old place and turn in the keys, when they de-lodge what is left.
It might be key to why I have been so sick since last Friday. I will want to crawl into the depths of the fucking earth.
Because the bed and wheelchair are so disgusting, they defy description. And the bed too heavy and hard to lift alone, and drag it to the river and burn it on the bank in and hope for a flood, which would carry it away.
Am not exaggerating.
I can deal with lots of things. Vomit? Never bothered me much. Blood? Can hire myself out to the mafia for cleanups, have seen enough in my life. Urine? Rumpled nose, and you can get through it. But there are two things that really really get me to the point where I can't deal with it. One was the smell of a miscarriage and cleaning up splattered placenta on porcelain. Someone had one in the cinema once, and it took me three days to clean it up, because the smell made me literally sick. (Since then, if some woman is 'having her days' and isn't 'particular', and is next to you on a hot day on a bus, well that memory comes back because the odor is the same. And yeah, I know some guys can get off on that, but it is disgusting for me. Sue me.)
The other is shit. And in the frantic few days before Peter had his second heart attack, he got diahrrea, I was mostly not there, and he didn't get to the WC in time, and the mess was phenomenal. And the stink.
I just couldn't deal with it. Skid marks in underwear is one thing..... but that was... catastrophic.
Funny comment here. Werner used to say, 'change your Beflaggung' (flag=underwear in foreign legion jargon...) You passed gas in your sleep last night, and I shouldn't have made beans. '
That was embarrassing, but we could make frat-boy sort of fart jokes.
Tomorrow will be pure humiliation. It is really really bad.
Peter actually excused himself today and said he was sorry that I have to do this. He KNOWS how I am gonna abhor this. But was oddfully cheerful. 'I think it was a good experiment, but now I KNOW I am being well taken care of, but it was worth trying.'
Oh REALLY..... Well, I don't wanna go there but will have to. I FOUGHT to get him in there for nearly two years, and still get to clean up 'the mess'. How wonderful.
NOT.
Will just have to brazen it out, I guess...
Just the thought has been making me literally ill.
What is left over they should just take. The best piece is a 'garderobe', but there was no more space for it on the truck when we cleared most of it out.
Am banging my head on the keyboard, but as much as I always tried.... it becomes a clusterfuck. I hope this is the last one.

I got SUCH a charge out of seeing the US-UK soccer game end 1-1. If anyone is a full snob about their soccer power, it is the Brits followed by Germany. As always in World Cup season, the whole bloody world stops. The opening ceremonies in South Africa garnered a BILLION viewers!!!!
But in 'Murka, that is a sport people seem to wrinkle their nose at. Sigh, they have always been out of touch, marching to their own drummer, and 'real' football means rioting on the field and crushing people physically.
I don't get off on it, and I don't get off on most other sports, actually. But for people here it is like a drug or something. They go nuts over it.
All I like to see is underdogs bitch-slapping the overconfident smug teams.
It makes me smile with happiness.
Storm nearly over me, so will close. The skies just opened up. Maybe it will cool off a bit.
Was watching some clips from 'A Little Night Music' tonight. Got revived on Broadway. Wonderful cast, seemingly great staging, but then again, THAT was by Trevor Nunn, and he is a genius. It looked very good. I don't know how Angela Lansbury will do at the Tonys, but I liked the clip I saw. Catherine Zeta Jones is good.... but still too young in my opinion. You're gonna find this weird of me, but the character of Desirée Arnfeldt is supposed to be a washed-up actress. CZJ doesn't really seem to fit, but that is just my opinion....
There WAS a film of this one. And that role was played by Elisabeth Taylor. (Don't yell or hit.)
Also a wonderful cast in it, and Diana Rigg was astounding, and Hermione Gingold, and many from the original production.
It was filmed in Austria, and it bombed so badly. But there was much to admire about it.
Especially the music. And no, will not do another hymn to Sondheim. But I think it is one of the most accessible venues to his music. He once called it his 'waltz' musical. And most of the numbers are in waltz tact. The book is brilliant and charming, funny, and sad.
And it produced his only world-wide hit: Send in the Clowns.
And hey, you back there, yes you! They played that to death back then. Every wannabe singer sang it in every dive you could think of. Without the context. And because they were even able to sing it, hey. Even I can sing it.... in the shower... They can NOT sing most of his other stuff, believe me.
But the context was... missing a connection with another, reaching an age where you can't go back, regretting, and finding the world is so topsy turvy, you missed it. You'd have to have seen it in its' entirery.
I really hated that song before I knew what the context was.... Nowadays? I think I began to understand.... Being blind to things, the laugh is on you, and where is the circus with the balloons, you know? Or that YOU are the clown, never having GOTTEN it...
Have to shut down, don't want to mess up my notebook.
There also was a later hit, losing my mind, which the Pet Shop Boys re-cycled for Liza Minelli, but don't want to go there....
But I loved Diana Rigg. Stop the clip after nearly five minutes... You won't understand the rest.
This has been my 'depri' song for a long time.... Every day a little death. Every time I leave Gamlitz, the text often runs through my mind, and the haunting music to it. Which is why I try to forget about it. Came back to me when I read the revival is up for Tony Awards, and I hope it garners lots. It is brilliant. And yes, the context is fully different. But when you watch someone slipping away from you in any context, it can kill something in you bit by bit. I think that makes the brilliance of what he does.... It goes straight to the heart, and can nearly kill you with insight.
I will NEVER forget showing Peter a rare dvd of his 'Into The Woods'. It's about fairy tale figures, and the first part was mostly hilarious. Lyrics simple, music no one can sing along with. And the second act was after 'happily ever after', and was devastatingly sad. Peter was sobbing by the end of it. Going to Sondheim is adventurous, and the music wonderful, and the lyrics to die for for brilliant. But he will get you right in the heart every time..... He must be a very sad man....

Still feeling 'punk', so I drank a lot of tea, and didn't eat, no hunger, and began the day by throwing up. And thought, 'Ok, you're grounded for today'....
Sooo... I was rummaging around in my dvd's, and realised I hadn't watched all of the fifth season of NIP/TUCK. I didn't care for the first episodes, and had a lot of stress at the time. Peter sick, Werner camping out on my floor.... was too distracted.
The beginning seened long-winded, just recycling the themes at the time, so I thought, OK.... at some point one should stop... The first four were stellar. John Amato of Crooks and Liars coined the word power cycling dvd's, and have talked about it before. If you are under the weather, nothing takes your mind off things like getting a season of a show out, and just watching them, one episode after the other. And I know I've said this before.
But today I was thinking, 'boy was he ever right!' No ads or nonsense, so the story lines become very tight, and become much more suspenseful, and it is a great distraction... like one very long movie that can make you laugh cry, cringe and keep wondering what the hell will happen next.
I watched the first four or five episodes last night, and the rest for most of the day today. The rest of the fourteen episodes at about 45 minutes each. And I think it was about the fifth, and this movie 'agent' shows up and begins to represent one of the surgeons. And I didn't recognise the makeover, but there was something in the voice... and went into shock. 'Of course! it's Sharon Gless!' Of former Cagney and Lacy fame, although she's done lots of stuff since, including the radical Mom on Queer as Folk.
I couldn't believe it. Her stylists made her nearly unrecognisable, and I could swear she was channeling Lucienne Goldberg. (For those who don't know, she played a heinous role in the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal.) But believe me, she had it DOWN to the letter. I don't know if it was planned that way, but it was fantastic.... because...
Turns out the character isn't an agent, but a psycho. That is when it got REALLY good. She stalks Sean, one of the doctors. And he gets approched by another agent, and in one of the most weird murder scenes I have EVER seen, she gets him in her clutches and kills him. And it wasn't the what, but the how. There all always references to how she makes teddy bears as a hobby. And she gets the agent to her place, knocks him out with a bottle, he wakes up duct-taped to a chair, she wheels out this wierd machine, runs a vacuum sized hose into his mouth, and 'stuffs' him with sawdust. Till he dies. Then she studies him, sticks big buttons in his eyes, and puts his mobile phone into his ear. The machine was for making her teddy bears, you see.
All the while being 'dispassionate'. And sociopathic at the same time. She disappears for a bit, and at the end, she stabs Sean in his operating room with a very large kitchen knife, and he is hemmoraging on the floor, after just having operated on his daughter. Ok, well that was complicated as well...
Sean's ex-wife gets shot by the conniving daugher of her lesbian mother, so she wakes up with amnesia, of course. This after the daughter had been poisoning her with mercury for months. And sleeping with her ex-husband.
His partner Christian finds out he sired a daughter, who it turns to fall in love with his biological son, and he 'kills' his nemesis giving her one last sexual go-round on a balcony balustrade, does it too hard and she falls to her death from what seems to be the fifteenth floor, and dies. (There is a LOT of sex in that series...)
I know, it all sounds confusing. This is so pushing the envelope on all conceptions, it makes for fascinating watching. And it is ANYTHING but soap opera.
Still.... the fifth season seemed.... 'choppy' at first. The first four had driving narrative, and it really seems the writers weren't really so sure where to go with all the narrative strands at first. But when they pulled it together, they got the drive back.
Although I hate the cliff-hanger endings.
Sigh, just another Sunday here. The Tony awards are being streamed live on the CBS internet website. Might watch if I get up again at midnight. Will see...

It was health issues. And the weather had gone from the low Twenties to Forty the past two days. Forty degrees Centigrade is damned HOT. And I didn't get my blood pressure pills renewed the past week, and yesterday, oh man, I really began to feel it, all right.... It was partly being lazy, and partly depressive, so I didn't go get my prescription. And if I get them over the counter without, they cost more than twice as much....
So that was how my week began.... more or less. So yesterday I suddenly got dizziness, and today it was worse in the morning... And I had promised a few people a few thngs. And in the past months, I 'want' to get something achieved, and get so messed up, I don't even wanna leave the house. And sometimes do not.
So ok, I thought, 'I'm Doing this today, come hell or high water.'
So I trucked on over to the ho-tel, beladen with stuff on my way to the train station, and oh wow.... The air was so toxic my asthma kicked in, and I was already was kicking myself in the arse for not having packed my 'bomb', my asthma inhaler. Normally I do not need it.....
The diziness wasn't going away, and it was getting worse. But I WANTED to pass on Glee to my ex-colleague, because I KNOW she and her daughters will love that series. We all like musical sorts of 'stuff'. I've lent them so many things over the past years, and the kids wanted me to see the 'High School Musical' series, and they meant well. They were 'cute'... But I lent them more serious stuff. Glee is restricted for people under fifteen, and my colleagues' daughter Steffi is just barely 16. So I told Elke, 'This is 'High School Musical'... without the Disney. And she said, 'Oh, am so curious!' We shall see.
They lurves them the Desperate Housewives series, and have seen what I collected so far, by the way.... So it isn't always about music.
So I was just in there for one snigarette, but that wasn't doing me any good. Got Herzrasen, increased heart racing. Smart? Sometimes I am, but usually when it comes to other people.
So off to the train station it was. And I was getting an asthma incident, could hardly breathe.
But I got on the damned train, and was reading in my first edition Steven King volume of the Dark Tower series. My cousins surprised me with it some years ago, and it is a good read. Wizard and Glass.
Very handsome if gruesome illustrative plates in it. And damned expensive.
And had an etching in a frame with me to brighten up Peter's room.
I found it in a box, when I cleared out Peter's apt. There was a couple from CT who visited us every year, and it is of a raven. Which was from a native American out of British Columbia. Marion was on a cruise, and found it, and the next time she visited, was a house-warming gift.
By the time I got to Ehrenhausen, I was nearly wiped out. And got the bus, and trudged up to the home, and it was NOT ok. I nearly collapsed on the bench outside. Juliana noticed that something was wrong, we spoke a bit, and she said, 'Don't you DARE collapse on me!' My asthma was kicking in, and I said, 'Oh, I just need to rest a moment and collect my wits.'
I was just DRENCHED in sweat. It was sort of gross.
So I took everything up to Peter's room, he had just finished lunch. And I said, 'Listen, I am sorry, but there is no way I can push you into town today.' Am sure he would have liked some ice cream, or something cold.
I don't know how I got through the afternoon, was just nauseous.
I did my time in Café Purgatory on the way back, and just wanted to get home. And of COURSE the train had a ten minute delay, so it was one of those, 'Oh my, am I ever gonna get HOME and lie down?????'
I popped into the supermarket, got a tiny bite to eat, no appetite.... And hardly got into the stairwell of my house, and then it hit. I couldn't get any more air, and begain choking. Which set off my gag reflexes, and sort of dragged myself up, but wasn't throwing up, because I had nothing in my stomach at the time.
There is NOTHING I hate more, and have to get my nose clear when it happens. In the post below, the cheerleader coach yells at her team. 'You think that was gruesome? Try getting waterboarded!' Well Preciousses... I 'think' I know how that feels, so I didn't really find it funny....
It took a full half-hour to recover, and I hate that as well....
Peter's picture got hung, we did some more work on how to use his laptop, and he sort of drove me crazy, but I am not good company if I'm down on my game.
As to the heat.... istn't supposed to go that high in June. Celcius always confounds me. Ok, let's take it from the top.... O Celcius is 32 degrees Fahrenheit, ok? And every degree above that is 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit over that, ok? 4o degrees... well I guess it was over one hundred out there the past two days, and all I know is... that is so hot, you wanna die. Especially if you have a health issue. And that is August weather, not June, although it has been known to happene.
Yeah, so am not cheerful.... it's cooling off, so I feel a bit better. Thank whomever...
And how was YOUR day?

This kid kinda freaks me out. Chris Colfer. He plays the gay kid in the Glee series. I like the sass he brings to the role. I feel uncomfortable with his voice, and admire the guts it takes to play it like he does. One of the most memorable episodes involved him wanting to sing the signature song from the musical 'Wicked', and his Dad, very blue-collar type who is more than confused about his son, goes to bat, and bullies the school guys to let him audition for the song, which is normally sung by a woman. And the day before, his father gets an anonymous phone call. 'Your son is a faggot.' So Kurt, which is the character he plays, goes to the audition, and purposely blows the high F note, because he can't take having his father getting the pressure, and later tells him so. And why. He is used to being denigrated, but he wasn't about to let his father be exposed to that. It was very moving.
So was still on YouTube, and whaddaya know... there is a clip, and my gawwd, the kid hits the high F and it's sorta amazing.

You HAVE to see the series 'Glee' if only for Jane Lynch. She is one hell of an actress. And her character is so evil, ach Gott! Leaves you wanting more. There is a take near the end of the clip from the show, and was part of how the first half of the first season ended. So to have it make sense, she coaches the cheerleaders, and absolutely abhors Will, who runs the Glee Club. And she basically makes his life hell. And she threatens him. 'You're about to board the Sue Sylvester Express. Destination: Horror.' I think that will go down in tee-vee history, so not joking.
I am not the sort of person who watches stuff over and over, but I have watched my dvd's of this three times already, and it is very very good. So much talent, so much that is 'true', I was over the moon, and I didn't expect this at all. Was just curious, because it was being talked about all over the internets.

I got texted. By a guy who is so drop-dead handsome, it hurt. Why the hell didn't we have intertubes when I was 20? (Shrugs, shakes head... in despair.) He's just looking for friends... This is just a bulletin...
Am simultaneously watching tee-vee on the internets. Rachel outdid herself... again... yesterday, always get it a day late, hey. Keith is on, but I do multi-task... I put him on pause for the moment. I am so sickened over BP's lies, I don't dare get out of the house, because I 'might' fly to England, and punch Tony Hayward, and that Siddel guy full in the face. So I grind my teeth. Which is also self-destructive. But am THAT angry... If this all gets worse, I'm gonna rent a wood-chipper, and someone will go into it, I swear.
Except---ya know... revenge fantasies are just that. I'd have to get some sort of protective suit to keep the blood off me, and I can't afford both. Lucky for them.
Oh yeah, the guy's name is Clifford. Not Cliff, Clifford. And THAT is so cool.... (Shrugs...) We shall see. It would be nice to have a friend again.

I did. Unfortunately. I was gonna take my driver's test? And a friend let me drive his WV bug at nite. I did ok.... Except... I turned too sharply, and the Bug was stuck on the curb. If you want to talk about mortification, you've never been there, believe me. So They lifted it up, and wanted me to go in reverse, Hard. Well, the First Time didn't work, and they screamed ' Gun it!' So I did, and was so relieved to be not stuck on the sidewalk... um I forgot to brake in time.
Oh... I put a 45 dollar dent in that cute VW. It was more than a week's pay for me at the time, so I went go my boss. He was off the charts for hilarity. He advanced me the money, and never made it 'hurt'.
I don't know why I'm thinking about this tonight.
But believe me, I have never gotten behind the wheel of a car since..... Devils' work, hey...

Listen, I don't take sides. But I don't like what is happening in Gaza either, and how could Helen Thomas blow her position like that She was THE thorn in Dumbya's side and no dummy.
Jon Stewart: This next statement by Charles Krauthammer may be the stupidest fucking thing anyone’s ever said about the Middle East ever. . .
Krauthammer: “What exactly is the humanitarian crisis that the flotilla was actually addressing? There is none. There’s no one starving in Gaza.”
Stewart: Y’know, whatever you may think of the respective leaderships, the Israelis or Hamas, whatever Gods you pray to or whatever direction you may pray to them in, if you can’t even look at Gaza, and agree that there is suffering there that needs to be alleviated, no matter who’s to blame for it, then your heart is so dead tourists flock there to float on their backs in it.
Where is the difference?
Just so wrong.

The quote below is from 'The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy by Doug Adams. Doug thought the wohle thing up sleeping in a field ind the Austrian alps in Tyrol. As far as I read. It is cult.
BP SHOULD’VE READ THE GUIDE FIRST
{Posted in News/Current Events, What So and So Said on June 7th, 2010 by Scott }“The Great Ventilation and Telephone Riots srDt 3454 had started out as just a lot of hot air. Hot air, of course, was the problem ventilation was supposed to solve and generally it had solved the problem reasonably well up until the point someone invented air-conditioning, which had solved the problem far more throbbingly.
And that was all well and good, provided you could stand the noise and the dribbling, until someone came up with something even sexier and smarter than air-conditioning, which was called in-building climate control.
Now this was quite something.
The major difference from ordinary air-conditioning was that it was thrillingly more expensive, and involved a huge amount of sophisticated measuring and regulating equipment which was far better at knowing, moment by moment, what sort of air people wanted to breathe than mere people did.
It also meant that, to be sure people didn’t muck up the sophisticated calculations that the system was making on their behalf, all the windows in the building were built sealed shut. This is true.
While the systems were being installed, a number of people who were going to work in the buildings found themselves having conversations with Breathe-O-Smart system fitters that went something like this:
“But what if we want to have the windows open?”
“You won’t want to have the windows open with the new Breathe-O-Smart.”
“Yes, but supposing we wanted to have them open for just a little bit.”
“You won’t want to have them open even for a little bit. The new Breathe-O-Smart system will see to that.”
“Hmmm.”
“Enjoy Breathe-O-Smart!”
“Okay, so what if the Breathe-O-Smart breaks down or goes wrong or something?”
“Ah! But one of the smartest features of the Breathe-O-Smart is that it cannot possibly go wrong. So. No worries on that score. Enjoy your breathing and go about your day.”
It was, of course, as a result of the Great Ventilation and Telephone Riots srDt 3454 that all mechanical or electrical or quantum-mechanical or hydraulic or even wind-, steam-, or piston-driven devices, are now required to have a certain legend emblazoned on them somewhere. It doesn’t matter how small the object is, the designers of the object have to find a way of squeezing the legend in somewhere, because it is their attention that is being drawn to it rather than the user’s.
The legend is this: ‘The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.’”
Douglas Adams — The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe. BP, anyone, whaddaya think?
This was cult. I remember being SO into it in the early 80's. And to think he dreamed all that up on a mountain field in Tyrol one summer's night... Brilliant. And heartbreakingly true.

He can make me laugh so hard.. Joe.My.God makes me laugh as well, in NewYawk. But Scott on Bill in Exile is also a huge fan of Jane Lynch.
It was Joe who turned me on to the show 'Glee'. I only have the first half of the first season. It is awesome. Jane Lynch is the meanest, most horrid person you ever wanted to see, EVAH. But it is just a part in a series, Preciousses. I only bought the damed thing after seeing a half-hour interview with her with Katie Couric doing it.
Jane is spectacular. And so 'mean'. I fell in love with the character, ok? She isn't really like that, but it was clear.... she got a role and it was 'red meat', something you can tear your teeth into. And whadaya know, the GLBT community have gone nuts over this series. She is the 'vilainess', Preciousses. And everything else it top notch.
I am so 'stoopid', I have watched the first half of the first season three times, and some of it makes me cry, and I HATE the character she plays, but am intrigued. As in 'how did she get that way?' And oh yeah, Jane is an out lesbian, and she doesn't hide anything in her role, which makes everything better.
She did one of her 'coach' numbers for a commercial, which Scott catched. In her role as Sue Sylvester. It was tame. If you have cable, take a look at Glee. It is astoundingly good.

This is a day when you don't wish to get outtta bed. Blanche Lincoln won in one of the dirtiest elections I have EVER seen. I despise that corporate idjit. When do the liberals get a break?
Jeebus.... just shutting down voting venues so people have to drive two hours to VOTE???? Oh yeah, that is one fine Democrat, backed by Obama and Clinton. Well, Darlin's, am about to toss my cookies RIGHT NOW. I wanted to SEE Mrs Lincoln GO away, voting against the public option, I want her to hurt in every sense of the word, that DINO....
And what the fuck hell is going on with Orly Taitz? She should be in a padded cell, and not running for office, but that's the glory of 'Murka.
Has everyone lost their fucking minds? Or did the oil smells get to them and fry their brains, hey.
And oh yeah, that 'Native American' lady running for gubnor in South Carolina. As my not sainted bio-mom used to say, 'Let me tell You one THING.....' If the men who are saying they slept with her.... they didn't... oh that is So unbelievable.... Possible, but unbelievable.
I'm going out on a limb here... but I have this 'gift'. People call it 'gaydar'. And I can call it from an ocean away. If either of them tried anything with that lady, they were tied, gagged, and fed so much Viagra, they would have attacked anyone, and she doesn't seem the type to ever go along with that. Those guys would rather pet bunny rabbits than touch a woman, I mean, what IS all this, a limbo contest? How LOW can you go?????
Oh man, November is gonna be disgusting.....
I just can't believe 'da crazy'. Don't take it personally, but it doesn't make any sort of sense to me. JEEZ!!!!!!
